PRP is a leading processor of coniferous timber in Slovakia. Its main commercial products are construction timber, prisms, beams and battens and planks. The company also handles subsequent transport of materials.

You will find the company's products in almost every place. The wood is used in the construction of houses, furniture and art installations. It is all around us.

Why did we invest?

  • We know PRP well from our previous investment between 2017 and 2019, which generated an IRR of 23%. This experience gives us an understanding of the company, its management team and the dynamics of the market, meaning we are not entering unfamiliar territory.
  • After three years of subdued demand, we expect the sector to enter a gradual recovery phase, with the first signs of improving financial performance already visible at PRP. The medium-term outlook is further supported by structural tailwinds, including public support for construction activity and the long-term shift towards more sustainable materials.
  • The investment structure combines an equity investment with a mezzanine loan, optimising the company's capital structure and creating room for further growth in line with the expected recovery of the market.
